What is "Checking Sensors"? Why are sensors not detected or why does it sometimes take a long time? Why do lenses stop shifting and there is a flatline?

You will see the "Checking Sensors" screen once you select to begin the training and this is an important step to ensure the sensors have good contact with your head and that they are correctly reading your brain patterns. Checking sensors will take a minimum 10 seconds. During that time, the system is analyzing the signal coming from the sensors to ensure they are working correctly. Please remain as still as possible during this test. If the test has passed, you will see the sensors turn green on the tablet screen and you will be able to select continue to start training.

If the sensors remain red after 10 seconds, first check that the sensors are touching skin and that hair is pulled out of the way. For people with longer hair, putting the hair in a ponytail is recommended. You can also try cleaning the sensors and the touchpoints behind each ear and top of the head with an alcohol-wipe.

Next, check for interference from nearby devices and electronics. Make sure there are no power cords touching your body or near your chair and try a new location, moving away from anything plugged into a wall power outlet, including Wi-Fi routers.

If you are still encountering problems with the sensor check, please dampen a paper towel with drinkable water and apply a small amount of wetness to the sensor and are of skin the sensor is touching behing each ear and on-top of the head, through the hair.

You may notice occasionally during a training the lenses stop shifting during training and the focus graph on the app is flatline instead of a smooth curve. This is due to an interruption in the sensor check and can be caused by a loose or dirty sensor, excessive movement, or interference. In this case, please follow the steps outlined above to improve the sensor check.
